Why Barnett Orthodontics?
Dr. Barnett is an Orthodontist. Only dentists who have gone on to complete a full-time Orthodontic Specialty degree (in Dr. Barnett's case, a 3-year Masters degree) which focuses exclusively on orthodontics, can call themselves an Orthodontist (or, more officially, a "Registered Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics").
Our entire team is striving to deliver great service to you as patients at both our Calgary and Cochrane locations. Dr. Barnett loves working with families; that's what drew him to orthodontics in the first place.

DR. GREG BARNETT,

Dr. Greg Barnett was born and raised in the small city of Orillia, Ontario, in “cottage country” about 2 hours north of Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University in 1998, and from there went on to complete dental school at the University of Toronto, graduating in 2002. This was then followed by a couple of years working in Midland, Ontario as an Associate in a family-based general dental practice.
In 2004 he was accepted to the University of Alberta’s Graduate Orthodontics program, where he completed a Masters thesis and his 3 years of Orthodontic Specialty training. It was during this time in Alberta that Dr. Barnett and his wife Megan (who is a general dentist and hails from Victoria, B.C.) decided that this was the place for them.
Dr. Barnett enjoys skiing, trail running, hiking and cheering on the Flames (but retains a soft spot for the Toronto Maple Leafs as well). He and his wife have their hands full at home with their two children and dog Bugs. His children are proud owners of 3 geckos: Puck, Skull, and Cornflake. He seems to spend most of his free time driving to various hockey arenas across southern Alberta on the weekends, as any good Hockey Dad would do!
Dr. Barnett is a Registered Specialist in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is a member of the Alberta Dental Association & College.
The Team in Cochrane
The friendly smile behind the Front Desk in Cochrane belongs to either Raquel, Janelle or Jade, while Carmen, Lonni, Melissa, or Joy will be the Treatment Coordinator you see at your first visit.
Janet, Ann, Kristen, Melissa, Jamie, Sasha, and Melanie will be involved with your clinical orthodontic treatment every step of the way in Cochrane. Enjoy finding your favourite ski run on the various ski maps in the clinic, or find out what the “Theme of the Week” (and yes, there’s one EVERY week!) is when you’re there!
